Each year, we honor two outstanding educators in our district—one elementary and one secondary teacher—as the Shawnee Heights Teachers of the Year. These exceptional individuals are then nominated for the prestigious Kansas Teacher of the Year Award.

The Kansas Teacher of the Year program celebrates excellence in education by recognizing outstanding classroom teachers who inspire their students and demonstrate leadership within their schools and communities. Its mission is to build and leverage a network of exemplary educators to improve schools, enhance student achievement, and elevate the teaching profession.
